LHS VOLLEYBALL and Senior Night CKL Triangular @ Lyons High School – Tuesday, September 22, 2020 We are looking forward to hosting you and your volleyball teams on September 22nd in CKL Volleyball with triangular matches beginning at 5:00 p.m. Order of play: High School Gym: North Net – Varsity South Net 5:00 - Lyons vs Hesston 5:00 6:00 – Hesston vs Haven 6:00 7:00 - Lyons vs Haven JV - South Net 5:00 – Lyons vs Hesston 6:00 – Hesston vs Haven 7:00 – Lyons vs Haven Middle School Gym: C-Team/Freshman 5:00 – Lyons vs Hesston 6:00 – Hesston vs Haven 7:00 – Lyons vs Haven *This is our Senior Night, so there will be a brief ceremony before the start of 7:00 Varsity match to recognize the 2 senior girls for Volleyball. If the JV match is underway, we will wait for a break and pause the game momentarily. Volleyball: *A maximum of 25 percent capacity will be allowed in *Limit of 2 or 3 fans per participant depending on team numbers *Masks will be required for entry into all league venues and temperature checks will be taken at the door. Masks will be worn at all times while indoors. Social distancing practiced in the stands.

Parents of LHS JV and "C" Team VB members can stop by the LHS office today to pick up your 2 tickets to attend the CKL VB Tri today (9/15/20) at Hillsboro. Varsity team members were given tickets to take home to parents yesterday. Lyons plays at 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm

We know change is difficult, but the counselors will always be here to help. USD 405 will serve lunches to the remote learners at the High School back door of the kitchen between 11:00 and 11:30. We would like for you to call the High School office if you would like to pick up a meal. We will also be serving lunches on Wednesday at Park and Central as a drive though grab n' go. The time for Wednesday is 11:00 to 12:30.

Congrats to junior Bella Bryant for her 3rd place medal at #2 singles at the 10-team Pratt Invitational Tennis Tournament Saturday. Tessa Miller and Mia Bryant competed for the Lady Lions in #1 doubles.

Update: September 10, 2020 USD 405 - Lyons was notified that a student at Park Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. Per our established protocol, we are thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting areas within that facility. We are also in contact with the Rice County Health Department and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of our staff and students. The district is closely monitoring this situation and will notify families if any additional actions need to be taken. LHS VB at Marion Spike Fest Saturday, Sept 19 starting at 9:00 AM COVID INFORMATION: Please follow these directions! · Towels will not be provided. Ice is available in our training room. Practice balls will not be provided. Please bring your own warm-up balls! - Temp checks will be done at the door for all spectators upon arrival. Anyone above 100.3 will not be allowed in. If you do not feel well, stay home! - Coaches will wear mask at all times, players will wear mask unless they are actively participating. - Spectators will be required to wear masks inside if not able to social distance. Please sit with family units. - We are only allowing 2 Spectators per athlete, please include them on the roster/pass gate information. - Each school will receive 20 student passes to hand out to students. They will still need to pay, but will be allowed into the gym in addition to your 2 spectator limit. - Schools need to provide their own water. - No pre game or post game handshakes. - Teams will not switch sides, chairs will be wiped down after each match. · Each school is responsible for their valuables. Please advise players to bring only necessary items.

The AFJROTC awards ceremony scheduled for Thursday, September 10th, has been postponed. We will let you know when a new date has been confirmed.

Central School Fall Lifetouch Picture Day has been rescheduled to Monday, September 28th.

Football cancelations Due to unforeseen circumstances, the high school and middle school football games scheduled for the next two weeks have been canceled. That includes high school games scheduled for September 11th vs Pratt and September 18th vs Nickerson. It also includes middle school games scheduled for September 10th vs Smoky Valley and September 17th vs Hesston.
