Lyons High School Art Teacher Leah Bowers was recognized with the El Potrillo Above & Beyond Award for March. According to one of her two nominations, she was the ringleader and planner for a fundraiser for a fellow employee who is undergoing difficult times with a health situation. According to her other nomination, she organized a silent auction and gathered over 40 items for a silent auction that generated almost $6000.
Each month, the Above & Beyond honorees are given a $25 gift certificate to El Potrillo courtesy of the restaurant.
Other nominations for the month of March include: Stephanie Geeves, Ardynn Hershberger, Dan Reazin, Julie Tommer, Trish Stover, Swain Williams, and Laura Rhodes.

The Lyons vs Larned softball and baseball doubleheaders have been postponed to Tuesday, April 9th at 4:00 pm in Lyons.


Tennis at Pratt scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 has been postponed. A make up date has not yet been determined.


LMS Tennis scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26 in Great;Bend has been postponed to Saturday, April 13 at 9 AM due to the impending cold front tomorrow

LHS JV Baseball at Hesston Canceled Today 3/25/24


The Lyons Schools Hall of Fame will induct 7 new members today at 1:00 at the LHS cafeteria. Some of the inductees will attend in person and several on video conferencing.
Debate and Forensics Coach Ken Troyer who coached numerous individual state champions as well as three state championship teams will be honored. His 1997 (Lacey Crowl, Lori Church, Clint Colberg, and Zach McClure) and 1999 (Lacey Crowl, Zach McClure, Jayson Tobias, and Brook Lippelmann) State Champion Debate Teams will be inducted. Casey and Megan Dwyer who teamed up for a State Championship in Improvised Duet Acting will be inducted too. Three outstanding individual performers will also be included. Keenan Hogan had two State Championships and was a National Merit Scholar. Seth Peckham had two State Championships, and Kara Wilder had three State Championships.
Zach McClure has already been inducted for his achievements as a two time State Champion and a National Champion as well as designation as a National Merit Scholar.
The ceremony will precede the LHS Spring Play that begins at 2:00 in the LHS Auditorium.
The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
