Ray and Evelyn Lippelmann Teacher Award
Has a teacher touched your life? Do you know a teacher who has been a
great influence on students? Anyone may nominate a teacher for the Ray
and Evelyn Lippelmann Outstanding Teacher Award. This is a financial
award that is presented annually to a USD #405 – Lyons teacher who has
demonstrated excellence in the teaching profession.
Previous winners from the past five years who are not eligible for the 2022-
23 year are Amanda Dawson, BJ Smith, Brian Friess, Trisha Stover and
Teresa Konda.

than March 8. Nominees will be evaluated by Wichita State University.

Another successful weekend for Lyons High School! At Sedgwick we had
Kassia Lopez- 4th in POI
Zachary Kottas- 5th in POI
Sam Steele- 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking, 4th in Oration, and 5th in Impromptu.
Cherish Galliart- 2nd in Impromptu and 2nd in Extemporaneous (State Qualified in Extemp)
Jarrett Smith and Mallorie Blank- 2nd in Duet (State Qualified)
We were also 13 points away from taking 3rd place, so a hard fought weekend!
Congrats to Emma Elliot on receiving a full ride scholarship to Fort Hays State University through the Rudd Foundation. Way to go Emma! We are proud of you!!!
