The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 26. The north stadium will be used as the stage for the graduation. Due to the recent changes in Rice County from increased numbers of COVID-19 cases, the Lyons High School graduation ceremony was moved from the auditorium to the football field to allow for better social distancing.
To make the ceremony as safe as possible the following guidelines need to be followed:
1. Guests attending the ceremony will be limited to ten per graduate, and family groups need to follow the recommended 6’ social distance from other family groups.
2. Face masks are strongly encouraged and recommended for all attending the ceremony
3. There will be no hand shaking with the graduates
4. Guests will need to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs to set up on the football field. With this being an outside ceremony, make sure that you are properly hydrated and that you use sunscreen, umbrellas, and hats to protect yourself from the sun. Mosquito spray is also strongly recommended.
